RCV Replacement Cost Value policy's usually cover the entire cost of the replacement of any damaged roof material including labor, materials, taxes and any cost incurred in the replacement of the roof, while ACV or Actual Cash Value policy's subtract the time that the materials have been installed and only cover for the remaining life expectancy e.g. a 30 year roof that was installed 15 years ago is worth only 50% of its value therefore insurance will only cover 50% of the replacement cost
